Liz-Desir Travel Group is a small, up-and-coming travel company that hosts and curates trips to different international destinations for individuals to join solo or with a friend to partake in well-planned and curated experiences. Liz-Desir Travel Group (LDTG) was created to bring individuals together in one place to explore together, network, and build newfound connections. We strive to build a community that brings people together abroad for a stress-free and luxurious experience. In addition to our immersive group trips, we also offer private trips for individuals, couples, or small groups for a more personal, customized experience.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Join our small team of aspiring travelers, travel enthusiasts, and connoisseurs! LDTG Social Media Assistant role is a part-time, hybrid (primarily remote with one (1) to four (4) in-person work/ collaboration days per month), and contract-based/ freelance position of up to 40 hours a month, andd must be based in Houston, TX. The Social Media Assistant will create and generally oversee all things related to social media in addition to strategizing ways for the company’s online presence and community to grow, and building awareness of Liz-Desir Travel Group. The Social Media Assistant (SMA) will be creating social media posts and content for different social platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterests and other social-related applications that are being used at present and will be in the future. Delivered and approved content pieces will either be posted by you or another approved team member. The SMA will be strategizing & executing marketing efforts related to our different trips and services and finding ways for Liz-Desir Travel Group to expand. Separately, should local in-person events occur, you may be required to attend for assistance and to capture content. This position is perfect for you if you are always on-trend, quick to learn and adapt to new systems/ applications, a great communicator, and tech-savvy, you must also have an interest in social media and marketing in general, and know how to draw in new people/ build and maintain an online community!
       
You may also oversee and review the messages that come in on each social media platform and assist each individual accordingly, or inform the respective team member to assist with responses directly. Social media content (such as posts, reels, TikTok, etc.), marketing strategies, and all things social media related will be reviewed by and alongside the Founder & Head of Travel Operations (HTO).

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

  • Fully manage social media content calendar for different platforms

  • Create social media posts and captions that align with the company brand and structure of different social platforms 

  • Develop social media campaigns

  • Monitoring KPIs of social media marketing campaigns/ posts

  • Design and implement social media strategies to align with business goals

  • Strategize ways for the company to expand its social presence and engagement on existing and new social platforms

  • Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content 3 to 5 times a week (standard post, carousel, reels, videos, story posts & poll, travel news, etc.)

  • Assist/ Lead Instagram Lives (when scheduled)

  • Maintain social media presence and interact with the community online

  • Tracking and reporting insights and metrics on a bi-weekly to monthly basis to the Founder & HTO

  • Stay up-to-date on trends and changes

  • Communicate and engage with followers and travel pages

  • Attention to detail and language used in each post, ensuring that all aligns with the company’s brand 

  • Collaborate with other teams such as the Travel Operations Department, to ensure brand consistency and be in the know about our existing, upcoming, and new products and services (i.e. group trips, private trips, etc.) when needed

  • Assist and communicate with followers that contact through comments under posts, and/or Direct Messages through different social platforms promptly

  • Create branded designs for social media through applications like but not limited to Canva 

  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and giveaways

  • Be extremely organized when content creating, planning, organically posting, and scheduling

  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications

  • Create captivating scripts and ideas for content to be recorded in person or to add to already-made content pieces

  • Attend local in-person events alongside Founder & HTO in order to assist and capture live content 
     

DESIRED QUALIFICATION

 

  • Experience with social media content creation and/or management

  • Work experience as a social media Assistant is a plus

  • Experience creating reels, TikToks, short videos, YouTube shorts, and posts for feed and story

  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator and/or In-Design is a plus 

  • Hands-on experience in content management

  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video) that aligns with the niche and brand

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Analytical and multitasking skills

  • Photo or video editing experience required

  • Experience using video editing applications such as CapCut, VN is a plus

  • Proficiency in using social platforms like but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest 

  • Proficiency in using Google suites, Google Meet, Zoom, and Hootsuite

  • Highly proficient in designing content using Canva 

  • Have a computer (PC or Mac) and smartphone 

  • Knowledge and fluency in more than one language is a plus

  • Great communication, writing, and organizational skills

  • Outstanding copywriting skills

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION​

  • Must be based in Houston, Texas 

  • This position is contract-based/ freelance, ranging up to 40 hours per month. Opportunity for growth and employment development after six (6) months 

  • Hybrid role (mostly remote with 1-4 required in-person work/ collaboration days per month), with required virtual or in-person check-ins with the Founder & Head of Travel Ops (HTO) on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

  • Occasional weekend work may be required or requested based on any events/ new product or service launch, etc. that require your support (whether virtually or in person - mainly in Houston,TX, U.S.A), with advance notice from the Founder & HTO

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

  • Room for growth

  • Opportunity to join an LDTG group trip from an approved list after 6–9 months in the role (general team trip costs covered; flights not included).

  • Hybrid (primarily remote with 1 - 4 in-person work/ collaboration days per month)

  • $500–$600 USD per month for the first 6 months (estimating 35–40 hours per month)
